The Scarf

Okay so as you all know, I live in Texas where it is hot as hell when you step outside. As a result, I haven't quite understood why scarves are sold in the summer. I have seen many girls and guys wearing them lately and wondered how is that possible. Sooooo, I bought one thinking I have to be able to incorporate it into my summer wardrobe. Then, I realized someone I knew wore one every day. This person wasn't a very nice person. I couldn't imagine being like that person, so I wanted to return my scarf. However, I thought about it and decided I would never be that person. Why let someone dictate how I dress? I promise I will not wear this scarf every day this summer. I was only able to wear it today, because it rained. Yes, I said rain! It really cooled everything off to a nice 92. I dedicate this post to two ladies I met recently. If you are reading I and M, this is for you.

Now that I'm back I'm trying to ease back into things at work, and as you can tell from my outfit choice, I'm trying to be as comfy as possible at work. If only I could manage to stop falling asleep...

I have no idea why I was laughing in the last photo, but it must have been really funny. I was laughing in several photos.

I'm Back!!

I did not have plans to stop blogging for the last two weeks. I started off my time in Baltimore taking photos, but that died after just a couple of days. The problem was that I had way more work to do while I was taking my first course. That was such an intense two weeks! I'm so glad I did it though. I met so many great people. I still have some work to do for my class. I'm working on it a little at a time each day. I have to turn it in by this Friday, because I will be gone to a workshop for my job next week.

$6 for these shoes!

Shirt: Liberty of London for Target via Target
Pants: Banana Republic Outlet
Sweater: J.Crew

I really wish I could have taken better photos. As you can see, I cut my head off in the last photo. I promise to be back in full force this week. I will have more photos to post tomorrow.

Hope you all are having a great week!! I'm just trying to get back into the swing of things at work. Plus finish up any other things I have for my class.

Hopkins Or Bust

I had to wake up at 3:00am this morning. It has been a very long day. I had to sit next to a guy with stinky very stinky feet. I was trying to sleep, but he took his shoes off and the smell made me want to vomit. Needless to say, I couldn't sleep. I couldn't wait to get off the plane. I kept checking the time to see how much longer I had to endure the smell. What did I do to deserve that?

I have been searching for the longest time for black cotton capri leggings. I should have known that Wal-Mart would have them. I wanted to be comfortable on the plane, so I wore my leggings and a long comfy shirt with pockets. Sorry my photos aren't as good as they usually are; I had to take my own.

I was going to workout this afternoon, but instead I walked down to the Inner Harbor to do some shopping.

When I first got there, there were some guys break dancing. They were so much fun to watch.

I stopped in at H&M and Urban Outfitters. After only two stores, I was exhausted. On my way back, there was a girl setting up to perform. She was amazing.

Tomorrow is my first day at Hopkins. I'm excited, but nervous.

How are you spending your weekend?

Umbrellas

I'm currently picking out clothes and getting packed for Saturday, so I have clothes everywhere. I'm even ironing some items (I never do that). I just take it straight out of the dryer and hang it up. I only iron when desperately needed.

Yesterday (and the rest of the week), I had the day off. I love having the day off! I like that I get to sleep late, I get to have 2nd breakfast, and I get to pamper myself with a massage. What I love most is that I can wear anything. Here is the evidence of that.

Dress: Jeseph Altier Walker
Belt: Agaci
Shoes: Jellypop (I can't remember where I got them)
Necklace: Banana Republic
Earrings: Handmade by me
Sunglasses: ? via Sunny Shades
Purse: Jenny N. Design

I got this "dress" at the TXSCC swap. I love the little umbrellas. I wish it would rain here. The dress is really a skirt, but I'm not really into long skirts so I belted it and now it's a dress. I was looking for a belt and this one just looked like it would be perfect because of the orange color. That is until I saw the inside of the belt and knew I should wear it inside out.

Over the Weekend

The hubs and I didn't do much over the holiday weekend. Mostly, we just laid around. I started working out again, which I really should have done sooner. I am not ready to be in a swimsuit. I also have started eating healthier. In just the last few days, I have noticed a difference in how I feel. I'm glad that I've started making these choices. I can't believe that I stopped.

I also managed to do a little studying this weekend. Here's the proof.

I'm reading about public health.

I'm off to read some more. Hope you all are having a great week.
