Coaxing Spring

All this week, I have been dressing in hopes of coaxing Spring out of hiding already. I think it might be working, because this weekend it is supposed to be in the low 80s.

I just realized today that my birthday is in just over 2 weeks. Wow! Where has the time gone?

I have to go play nurse to the hubs. When I called him after work today, he was sick with a stomach bug. Yuck!

If I Say Booga Booga...

With my new job, there is a lot that I don't know. It has been over a decade, since I've done this type of work, but I'm effing figuring it out. The hubs and I laugh, because in the movie "Superstar" the grandmother tells Mary and her back-up dancers "If I say booga booga, you booga booga." Then one girl asks, "what's booga booga?" The grandmother says, "I don't know, but if I say it you better fucking figure it out." This is my life right now. I'm asked to do things that I have no idea how to do, but I'm effing figuring it out. The big meeting went well last week. I found out that I get to do the next one, which is a little scary.

Hey Lady!!

I was off yesterday for President's day, so today is really my Monday and I'm already ready for the weekend. The hubs and I spent the weekend trying to remove wallpaper from the bathroom. I say trying because the backing is still there and I don't want to do it anymore. My whole body hurts!

I always feel like such a lady when I wear this top.

As you can see, nothing has really changed. I think I was bloated when I took my first measurement and that's why I "lost" 0.5 inch.

When Z-Day Happens...

So, I've been thinking about what things will be like when Z-day happens. I need to be prepared! I can't decide what outfit to wear while killing zombies, but this one is my favorite by far. I love the military coat! I need to get started getting all the pieces together; you never know when the first zombie is going to attack.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Yesterday, I had to take the hubs to Urgent Care to get xrays. He fractured his toe while I was gone to girls night on Saturday. This week will be busy at work. I will be attending a big meeting on Friday that I have to prepare for. I hope I do well.

I'm not one to celebrate Valentine's Day. The hubs and I never really go out or get each other gifts. Maybe one of us will get the other a card, but not always.

There And Back Again

Sorry, I've been gone for the last few days. I was on a very long road trip. The hubs, my bestie, and I volunteered to drive an FIV+ kitty to his new home at Best Friends in Kanab, Utah. Wow, that was an adventure! We left the Austin, TX area early Friday morning. Many of you may know that the Austin area actually had snow on Friday. The hubs and I decided to stay at my bestie's house on Thursday night (last minute decision). So, when I got home from work Thursday, I threw my clothes in a bag and ran out the door. Good thing we did, the roads were horrible on Friday. Lots of the roads were closed.

When we left early Friday morning, the ground was covered in snow. We started out okay, but after about three hours we hit nothing but ice covered roads. Luckily, we slowly were able to make our way northwest. When we got to Lubbock, TX, the roads started to clear.

We then drove until about midnight when we finally made it to Gallup, New Mexico (just east of the Arizona/New Mexico border). I was exhausted and then couldn't sleep, because this guy was meowing all night.

Saturday, I slowly stumbled out of bed and we got moving. The roads were clear so we easily headed up to Kanab.

It was very windy.

Saturday was a long day, but it did my heart good to leave that baby in such a wonderful place. We had dinner at Sizzler!

Yesterday was an even longer day. Everything started out great. We left early and our free breakfast was delicious. It all went down hill after we passed Flagstaff, AZ. It was sunny and then a blizzard. We finally were able to pull off I-40 and get lunch at a truck stop. We had to map out a new way home to avoid the rest of the storm, so our 14 hour trip turned into a 21 hour trip.

I don't have photos from yesterday because I didn't feel well. I spent the whole drive home in Hello Kitty pajamas.

I had one hour of sleep before I had to get up for work this morning. I'm headed to bed now.

Like Silkwood

With the start of the new month, I thought I would start dry brushing today. I will do my best to do it daily, so I can report my results to you all. I plan to give a weekly update. And with that, here is the last of my dignity:
