Spring Fling

As you all know, I was so inspired by all the beautiful skirts I saw at Forever 21 on Sunday. I love these skirts! You all may not know this, but I am picky. I hate when I buy something and it doesn't have pockets. If I could have a pouch like a kangaroo, I would. (I would also like an extra set of arms, but that's for another post.) I always need a place to carry my phone. I hate small pockets that my phone doesn't fit in and I hate slippery pockets. I didn't get the chance to really check out all the skirts at F21 for pockets, but I'm so inspired that I have already sketched some designs for what I would like to make. I'm impressed with myself. Don't go crazy and think I have uploaded my sketches. I didn't say I'm impressed with my sketches, just myself. Luckily, I stayed rather late at work today, so that means I will be able to leave early later this week and run by the fabric store! I have a small fabric obsession. I'll tell you all more about it later.

Do any of you sew? If so, what do you like to sew?

  1. I have a love/hate relationship with sewing. I get all gung-ho about a project, then 4 hours into it, wish I'd never started! It's a good skill to have, though. I love these skirts, and they're soooo (sew) simple. You can totally make some of these!

  3. Haha, I'm totally like Jess -- Usually I'll put so much effort into making something and by the time I'm done, I'm so fed up with it that I never wear it.

This isn't always true though, I have a few things, okay, a few skirts that were really easy, which I love. Dresses, tops, pants, and blazers almost always end up collecting dust in a corner.

  4. I usually get frustrated halfway through and give up. I'm determined this time. How hard can a skirt be? I remember in high school I was learning how to sew and I couldn't get it and the teacher was busy with helping the boys in my class. I ended up throwing my material in the floor and stomping on it and then shoving it in my locker. Haha! I hope I've matured, since then :)
